QUESTIONS ABOUT VOLUNTEERING

Can anyone register as a volunteer and attend pre-sale shopping?
Yes! Anyone may register to volunteer on a first-come/first-serve basis. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer. We welcome husbands and grandparents, too!
What percentage of the sales do I receive if I volunteer and consign?
Volunteers who consign receive 70% of their sales less a $10 consignor fee (deducted from your check). You must work at least 4 hours in order to get 70% of your sales.
I’ve never volunteered with Just Between Friends before. Is volunteering difficult?
Not to worry, we will show you what to do when you arrive! Please arrive 10 minutes before your shift for a little training.
What will I be asked to do when volunteering?
Volunteers mainly help with greeting and checking out customers, straightening clothes on the racks, and reorganizing items. It really is quite fun and our volunteers say that it helps them appreciate how a sale is run and why certain requirements exist.
How long are the shifts?
Volunteer shift times vary, however, most are 4-hours in length. You can earn 4 hour or 8 hour presale passes. All hours do not need to be worked at one time. For instance, a volunteer might choose two different 2 hour shifts for a four-hour presale pass, or two different four-hour shifts on two different days to equal an 8-hour presale pass.
Is childcare provided for volunteers?
Childcare is not offered. However, if you can get a friend to volunteer for a separate shift and take turns watching each other's kids you each will shop early!
I'm pregnant or have a medical condition. Is it OK for me to be a volunteer?
If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, you will want to volunteer when the workload is less. We have several shifts available with jobs that can be done sitting down. If you need these positions, please email us with your request after registering and we will try to accommodate your request.
What should I wear during my volunteer shift?
Please come dressed comfortably. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and for your safety, closed-toe shoes are best.
Will there be food available?
Please bring any food or drink that you might need during your shift. Some snacks and bottled water will be available.

VOLUNTEER PRESALE SHOPPING QUESTIONS

Who is allowed to shop at the pre-sale?
Volunteers shop first, then consignors, followed next by first-time parents and grandparents. Husbands, grandparents and friends are welcome to volunteer to earn their own pre-sale shopping pass or they can work a shift for you.
May I bring a guest to volunteer pre-sale shopping?
Volunteers may not bring guests unless the guest completes their applicable work times. Each pre-sale shopping pass is good for one person to enter the pre-sale.
May I bring a stroller to pre-sale shopping?
Stollers are only allowed during pre-sale shopping times designated for shopping with children. Babies are welcome if in a slinger or carrier. Please check the calendar for specific dates and times when children are welcome.
When will I receive my pre-sale shopping pass if I'm only volunteering?
Volunteer pre-sale shopping passes may be picked up at the door prior to your shopping time.
